NYC Nightlife Is Neighborhoods, Not a Single Scene
NYC nightlife is too big for one list. Bushwick and East Williamsburg have the warehouse-club scene (Bossa Nova, House of Yes, Nowadays). Lower East Side and Alphabet City still run the indie-rock dive-bar density. Midtown has the tourist-grade big rooms; West Village and Chelsea the LGBTQ+ institutions.
For cocktail bars: Please Don't Tell (through the hot-dog shop), Attaboy, Dante in the Village (rated world's best several years). For live music: Bowery Ballroom, Brooklyn Steel, Music Hall of Williamsburg.
NYC bars run to 4 AM citywide. The MTA runs 24 hours (with weekend service changes). Plan by neighborhood rather than trying to cover multiple boroughs in one night.
